• Add a new heuristic: 3.9 Tailored search tools are provided for specialist users.

• Heuristic 4.5 Staff are provided with a single user experience across all internal systems has been moved to section 8, alongside the other application-related heuristics.

• Added a new group of heuristics: 8. Intranet-based applications, containing a range of guidelines on delivering interactive applications on the intranet.

• Reordered section 9. Intranet strategy and management to provide a more logical grouping of heuristics.

• Removed the heuristic 9.4 There is a clear scope and purpose for the intranet, as this overlapped with heuristic 9.1.

• Added a new heurustic: 9.5 The intranet team has the necessary skills and resources.

• Added a new heuristic: 9.9 A communications and marketing plan has been established for the intranet.

• Added a new heuristic: 9.10 An authoring community has been established for the intranet.
